SUNDAY NIGHT: Comfort food recipes

Italian Sausage and Mushrooms
I loooove this meal...  So one of my favorite quick and easy meals is yummy Italian sausage and mushroom meals. I enjoy making this meal because it literally takes a few minutes to prepare. Fire up the stove cook veggies, sides, & you’re done. Have it in the morning with grits or pair with pasta. You can even pop some instant rice in the microwave and you have a full course meal just like that! Another option, steam some spaghetti squash to take the place of the carbs! Whatever side you add this main course will be the star!

Ingredients:
1 package (about 5-6) Sausage
8oz of Tomato sauce
2 cups Mushroom
1 Onion
2-3 cloves of Garlic
1 Tomatoes
1 Bell Pepper
1/2 tsp Salt and Pepper
Cut Parsley
1 tbsp Olive oil

Julienne cut onions and bell peppers. Cut tomatoes, garlic, mushrooms and sausages. Lightly drizzle pan with olive oil and sauté cut vegetables. Add the Sausage. Last step add the tomato sauce and let simmer for 10 minutes.

This recipe is just that simple. Once you're done, dust with some Parmesan cheese and as we say in the south TEAR IT UP!!

Give Thanks Thanksgiving Tablescape

“Give Thanks” to this spectacular seating for four Thanksgiving table. We simmered the design with autumn colors of Cranberry, orange, gold, yellow, & cream. With a hint of glitter, this tablescape is sure to sparkle during your holiday. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, well after Christmas and I enjoy the atmosphere of family friends and FOOD. I wanted this year’s décor to be warm, comfortable, and inviting. Here are some of the posh details that brought my table to life.

Details

Much to my surprise, when I went to Dollar General I found these decorous brown linen napkins that fit right into the arrangement. The gold napkin rings also made a wonderful addition to the color scheme. This was a bonus buy because they napkin rings can also double as table accessories for Christmas décor. I dug deep into my closets and found cranberry colored placemats that I dressed the table with under gold chargers that occupied the dinnerware.

I adorned the table with voltive candles I purchased from Walmart, glitter Pumpkin cut outs from the dollar tree and glittery pumpkins from the Michael's craft store. Incorporate boxes and stands in different heights to add levels to your table. I brought a gift box and wrapped in burlap fabric that I purchased from Walmart. I used the same fabric to make a matching table runner to bring a rustic feel to my design. Adding the Harvest basket with lemons and loose fall leaves completes the look.

I wanted unique centerpiece that would resembled fall and the purpose of Thanksgiving, so I filled with red beans, brown rice, & orange voltive candles in various glasses and vases. Lastly, I purchased little pumpkin party favors that you can use to make one of a kind placecards for seating arrangements from the dollar store.

I was able to find inexpensive accessories from everyday retail stores such as Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Michaels, and Walmart. As you can see, you do not have to break the bank to make a fashion statement!
